The idea for this ring came from Woody's many years spent working with leather, where rivets are used often as a fastening device. 

In this case, we treated the band of the ring as though it was the rivet, fastening it right through the brass portion of the ring. There will likely be many more of these in the future, but we doubt we will find another lagoon-blue tourmaline quite like this one. 

We love wearing brass jewelry. The metal develops a unique patina over time, reflecting the amount of wear (and care) the piece has received. Brass is an alloy that contains copper which can react with the PH levels in skin, body sweat, and moisture, occasionally turning skin green. This is harmless and does not last. Brass is able to withstand a lot of wear and tear, and we think it's under-appreciated as a yellow metal for Jewelry.
