Tell me about Po Jewels.

Po Jewels began in Montreal during the pandemic, when then-photographer Woody Rourke took the opportunity to learn a new craft during lockdowns. She learned the basics of silver and gold-smithing from YouTube and quickly became interested in cutting stones to supplement her designs. She currently works out of her studio in Montreal’s jewellery district, where she designs and makes all of the pieces by hand. 

Are the metals used to make Po Jewels recycled? 

Yes! We use recycled metals in all of our jewellery.

Do you use natural or lab-created stones?

We use mostly natural stones in our jewellery, but we love using lab-created stones whenever we desire a larger stone or a unique colouring to complement a design. We are sure to clearly list our stones as lab-created whenever we use them, so you always know what you are buying. 

Can I order a custom jewellery piece?

Do you like a Po Jewels piece but would prefer a specific stone or metal choice instead? Most of our pieces are customizable, please contact us at studio@pojewels.com for details.

Do you have a completely custom project in mind? We produce an extremely limited amount of custom projects per year. Please contact us at studio@pojewels.com for more information.

How do I clean and care for my Po Jewels?

We strive to make signature jewellery pieces that can be handed down to future generations. Please consider the following tips to protect the longevity of your cherished pieces. 

Cleaning: 

* When a deeper clean is required, most pieces can be cleaned with a soft brush (we prefer toothbrushes or artist brushes) and a mild solution of dish soap and lukewarm water. Rinse well and dry with a soft, clean cloth. 

* Emeralds, Pearls, Opals and Turquoise should be kept dry at all times, and it is best to rely on a local trusted jeweller for professional cleaning. 

* We suggest using great caution when using ultrasonic cleaners, as some stones can be permanently damaged. Please contact us for more information if you are unsure if your piece is safe.


Care: 

* We recommend removing jewellery when washing hands, exercising, or whenever coming in contact with chemicals such as the ones found in swimming pools, cleaning products, perfumes, hairspray and lotions.

* Prevent your stones from being exposed to high temperatures or long periods of direct sunlight as some stones can change colour or become damaged.  

* Some stones are more susceptible to fracturing and/or scratching, so it’s best to keep stones separate when wearing or storing your stones.

How do I know what ring size to order?

We size our rings according to the US/Canada ring size chart. Please contact us if you have any difficulty converting measurements or finding your ring size, we are happy to help. 


Some notes to consider when ordering: 

Wider bands tend to fit smaller than narrower bands, so you might need to size up a bit for wider bands. If you are unsure, please contact us, or a local trusted jeweller for assistance

Fingers may expand and contract due to changes in season, temperature and humidity, or when travelling. We suggest considering your location’s seasonality and your lifestyle when selecting your ring size.

An ideal ring size fits comfortably over your knuckle, with a little room at the base of your finger. Your ring should slide comfortably on and off, meeting slight resistance, for security, at the knuckle. Avoid choosing a size that requires a lot of effort to move over your knuckle.

How long can I expect to wait before my order is shipped?

The majority of the items on our website are made to order unless otherwise stated and the production times may vary. Those production windows can be found in the description of each item. If the item is in stock, it will ship within 1-2 business days. If you require a piece for a certain date, please reach out to us directly and we may be able to expedite the process at hi@pojewels.com

Returns are only accepted if your item has arrived damaged.

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes we do, but please keep in mind that we cannot be responsible for any additional customs and duties applied on your purchase.
